Lebanon, Virginia is again my home and the place I consider the best place to live in Southwest Virginia. It is called the heart of Southwest Virginia and serves as the county seat of Russell County. With a current population of 3,074 and a medium home value of $247,000, the community bolsters affordable living with great options for farmland and privacy.
Home of many outdoor hiking and recreational activities, residents enjoy the Cedar Creek Falls and Channels within close driving distance. The town is also focused heavily on its parks and rec department including new playgrounds, splashpads, and a community center geared toward young families.
With several small-town boutiques, two spas, and one of the last standing farm co-ops, there truly is something for everyone here. The town even now boosts its own local brewery and Vincent's Vineyards as well as a refurbished Russell Theatre now offering live music and shows. The town also promotes several festivals and live music evens throughout the year.
